Cuir interprets Saint Laurent leather through the contrast of dark oud and green violet leaf. Created by Fabrice Pellegrin, it opens with mandarin, cardamom and violet leaf absolute. Clove, Oud Assafi and a suede accord deepen the heart, before patchouli, cedarwood, Bourbon vanilla and sandalwood shape a rich woody foundation.
The oud's leathery and ambery facets are lifted by violet leaf's green freshness and floral softness. This tension gives the unisex composition its combination of strength and refinement. Within Le Vestiaire des Parfums, Cuir recalls the rebellious elegance of the black leather jacket Yves Saint Laurent brought to the couture runway in 1960.
